Top 10!!!!!!!!!

Itze
She proposed the right for every human being to have their own choice in the term of choosing genders. I believe it is true because you need to accept everyone as they are and even accept their like and dislike.

Juan
I totally agree with the term that if we all unite as broter the ciuntry will succed. The point that Juan stated: "No more of the Racial  Profiling and discrimination to our fellow brothers" is what every , even the immigrants wants. They should have all the privelages as humans that they are.

Carolina
It is ironic that when we think of America we think of whites but Native Americans are left out. As Carolina says, they should have the right to live freely among others. They can practice they religion and talk freely among others.

Nicole
Yeah it is true that people with disabilities should be treated equally. Nicole's point is that they should have the right to work, education , vote in other words live like a normal person.

Gabriela
I support this idea because sometimes elderly people die of many necessities. So It would be correct that their sons or grandsons manage their acounts and costs to help them have a better life.

Edrick
The generation of muslims from recent years may be ashame of some mistakes that their past generations committed. Now the things of the past are old things as Edrick says. They should be treated like every other human being.

Jenny
It is important that our decisions count for our country yes, but I think that is to soon for teenagers to vote. We can wait and vote when the time comes. If this is allowed some teenagers may vote with no reason. acting inmaturely.

Mariah
The point that Mariah gives is that the law#54 applies to every woman. In other words it will give more rights to woman which is the thing that they  have been waiting for years. Every ones equal.

hiomark-
Collective bargain makes the voice of workers to be heard. Hiomark supports it and so do I. Their dignity must be respected. Workers must receive the benefits that they deserve for all the sacrifices they make to make hard working.

Ivania
Her proposal is very good since the criminals must receive more visits and treated a little bit fairly but thir benefits cannot be much since the guilty ones must pay the consequences of tyheir acts.

Some Changes

Veterans and their social groups continue fighting for their rights in other words for their benefits. Even though they have been protesting for their benefits for years, the only thing that has change drastically is the respect for them. The Veterans have gained respect through the hard fighting, resistance and victories. They had the courage of risking their life for the respect and rights of their country.

The major change that this soldiers have contributed, is to the Veterans Day, celebrated in honor of America's past and present soldiers. All started when President Woodrow Wilson, in 1919, proclaimed November 11 as Armistice Day. This day was declared in honor of the tragedies of WWI. Armistice means “a temporary suspension of hostilities by agreement between the opponents”. In 1938 the day was designated as a national holiday. After  WWII and the Korean War, during which 436,000 Ameriacans died, Congress considered that day to commemorate veterans of all wars and later in 1954 it became Veterans Day.
In Honor of our Veteran (Veteran Day)

In other words, the veterans should feel proud of the work they have done and the respect that they have gained. But here comes the problem; yes they are respected but the respect do not pay their bills and the necessities that they have. To this day they are still waiting for the full benefits that they deserve and they will keep fighting for those benefits. At least they have our respect!!!!!!!!!

Ammendment Proposal

Enough is enough. You don't think that the veterans deserve the same rights and benefits that they fought for our country. They fought for years for the respect of America so lets pay them with the same respect as they did. But not only with the respect that we offer them in the Veteran Day, instead it will be with this respect plus giving them the benefits they deserve for the rest of their lifes.

So my proposal, my fellows of the Congress is that  each veteran must receive equal benefits but they will vary depending on the years that they have served America and also depending on the the health status of that veteran. To accomplish this, fewer money will be sent to all  veterans  in order to create some balance. This way the government can save that money in spare so that money could be sent to all the veterans each month. Now, on the term of medical benefits the veterans will receive a veteran plan that will cover the costs.
For those with disabilities and psychological problems the government must offer them a Hospital for Veterans where the veterans will receive the benefits that they deserve.

In other words our veterans gave all they had to save our country so why don't give them a little part of what we have. I mean America is America thanks to those veterans who died in combat and to those who ended with mental problems so why not helping them now that they just need some help. My fellow friends of the Congress thats my point and I hope you take in consideration all the effort and compromise they had to America.

Thank you all Our Veteran

Activism

In this topic there is a sort of irony. Although the veterans deserve their benefits after so many years under service and they even would like to fight for them they do not. The reason for not fighting back their rights is directly proportional to the term that the veteran's right and benefit depend on the government. If they start acting silly with the government they would end up having no benefits at all.

According to the VVAW (vietnam veterans against war) some kind of protest started in 1967 with six Vietnam veterans marching together in a peace demonstration. Now, forty-four years later, VVAW is still going strong-- continuing its fight for peace, justice, and the rights of all veterans.  THE VETERAN is the newspaper of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Inc. In 1971 and 1972 it was published as 1st Casualty. THE VETERAN was the first voice of Vietnam veterans in America, and has consistently addressed issues of peace and justice. Original articles on Post Traumatic Stress and Agent Orange have appeared since its first year of publication.

According to the Vietnam Protest Movement the most dramatic opposition to the war came from the soldiers themselves. Between 1960 and 1973, 503,926 members of the US armed forces deserted. Many soldiers began to question the morality of the war once they began fighting in Vietnam.

Barry Romo is a national coordinator of VVAW. This group want the bombs to stop falling, the GI's to stop dying and Americans to stop killing Iraqis. This comes from the critics that soldiers received afterVietnam war. Veterans were walking point on post-traumatic stress disorder and Agent Orange without law degrees or a big budget while the establishment said  that they were being crybabies or spreading communost propaganda. This is the opinion of veterans from this group.

Oppression and Mistreatment

Our veterans deserve more than platitudes when they return from foreign wars with illnesses or disabilities. Although the veterams have a big list of benefits that have been promised they are oftenly broken due to economic reasons. The government is in charge of those benefits but when they need to send billions of money  to wars or other events they cannot afford in helping the veterans.

Disabled veteran with his son. Full of Honor!
Under this situations the veterans get very angry  and dissapointed with the government since they have a family to sostain and  medicines to buy. While others are receiving benefits which is good, the veterans confront difficult situations. The veterans are being  mistreated by the government by the way the taxes have raised for them. According to Ron Paul archives: Federal rules force disabled veterans to give up their military retirement pay in order to receive VA disability benefits. This means every VA disability dollar paid to a veteran is deducted from his retirement pay, effectively creating a “disabled veterans tax.” Under the new partial concurrent receipt bill, only those veterans in essence deemed “disabled enough” will qualify.  Under the constitution it is not mentioned that veterans must receive their benefits at all time so theeir must be one.

In other words most shameful mistreatment of our veterans is in the area of concurrent receipt benefits.  Some arrangements must be made so that our veterans live a great life after so many years of service. The veterans keep on fighting daily through organizations to have plentiful life.

Veterans Rights!!!!!!

Veteran is that person who risked his or her life in honor for their country. Military veterans are mostly known for those who fought in combats for their entire career. Military veterans often receive special treatment in their respective countries due to the sacrifices they made during wars.  Different countries handle this differently, some openly support veterans through government programs and others ignoring them.  This affected many of the soldiers' life. Some soldiers had no benefits and after risking their lifes for many years they were left in the Limbo. Completely ruined!!!!!!

Life of the Veterans was not exactly the greatest. Sometimes they found it difficult to make living through years like the event of The Great Depression. The Bonus Act was passed by the Congress to help those veterans who faced hard times. The law provided a bonus based on the number of days served. But sometimes for a whole year they woud not receive eveb a dime. To demand full payment of their bonuses, veterans made groups and marched in form of protest in 1932. From 1944 to 1952, VA backed nearly 2.4 million home loans for World War II veterans. In 1984 The GI Bill established VA home loan guaranty and education programs continue to work for our newest generation of combat veterans.  In 2008, the GI BIll was updated once again. The new law gives veterans with active duty service on, or after, Sept. 11 2001, enhanced educational benefits that cover more educational expenses, provide a living allowance, money for books and the ability to transfer unused educational benefits to spouses or children.

According to data from the 2000 U.S. census, about 26.4 million civilians, or 12.7 percent of the civilian population, consisted of veterans of the armed forces. This number includes those who served on active duty for the duration of their military careers and those who served for only a short time on active duty. Today many people are thinking of going to war not only to serve their country like in the past or because they are force to, but to receive the benefits that veterans gained after so many years of  protest.

Veterans Day!!!! They deserve our respect.

Carolina
I totally support Carolina's descriptive words toward the mistreatment towards Indians. The  word unfair covers all the violence specially Wounded Knee Massacre as she describes on her essay.  It was very descriptive  and you can imagine through her words how the Indians felt.

Karlitza
It is very surprising to know how the Indians were treated on the reservations.  Her good examples make you read more about the topic and is lamentable to know that the only medicine they had to cure so many diseases that were spread through Indians was cotoil which is bad.  They divided the lands with its individual tribes. Not only diseases were a problem but also hunger. Many Indians died and suffer from these problems.

Christopher
A very important fact  he emphicizes in his topic.  The individual groups that the Indians were placed. The three groups were the Dakota, Lakota and Nakota. He had lots of details and incuded too the assimilation of Charles which is the best example of a transformation from Indian into White names.

Edrick
When you read the tittle you really want to read the essay. The fact that Indians are almost extinct is very impressive. The good thing about about reservations which is what hold Indians there is that the government help them. Other medication used to "cure" some diseases was called the brown bottle. It contained fish oil and a little bit of alcohol. So again many Indians died from diseases.

Ivania
Last but not least a very interesting fact which is marked in history. The fight for Indian Lands. Every fight was like a massacre since White weapons were superior  so they won every single fight. All the fighting was created because of  the promises that the whites never accomplished. The treaties promise money and the best life for the indians, but soon they realize that the life they were living was not exactly the one they were expecting. This conflict resulted in all the fighting that took place between whites and indians
